Wide view of our circle time area. The birthday presents is my birthday wall. Each gift has the child's name on the tag, their picture on one side and their birthdate on the other.

My white center is the car rug.

I actually haven't done much to this center other than dig the big cars out of the closet, bring some hot-wheels from home, and provide two shoe boxes to hold the hot wheels and happy meal type toys. In the milk crate are some barbies, clothes, and accessories. My autistic little boy loves this area. 100_1799

The second picture is of the blocks they have available. I took Legos out of the box marked dinosaurs and actually put dinosaurs in it. The other little container at the bottom has a Mr. Potato head set in it.

Crayon & hook system. BTW, I bought the hooks from Dollar General (they were a 6pk for $1).

This has our focus letter, color, number, and shape displays. I made the alphabet poster, the others were purchased.

The poster board has our class rules. I made this for my home daycare and brought it in. We go over the rules every morning as part of our circle time.

The big pocket chart is used for our daily question, pocket chart reading strips/song strips/etc. Each morning when the children come in they find their name tag and trace their name using a dry erase marker. The name tags are then used for them to answer the daily question.

My science area is right next to my block area. I currently have it as part of my block area, meaning that if a child chooses a blue necklace they can either play with blocks or use the science materials. Once I can find some different colored necklaces, I will make that a seperate area. There is one color mixing paddle set and a discovery bottle that was already in the room. The little box with the red wand on top is actually a magnetic Bingo kit.

My green center is my table toys & manipulatives center. I am hoping to introduce a system of shoe box activities (similar to the tray activities) for this center. When the children come to this center they are allowed to choose a box and take it to the table. Currently, we have a playdoh box (in the box are two laminated pieces of cardstock. There can only be two children playing with playdoh at a time and they must keep the playdoh on the work mats. I also have some theme related playdoh mats, along with alphabet & number cutters, shapes, and theme cutters), a box of lacing cards and string, puzzles, an Elmo Body Part Game (created by Jenn), and some 2 piece matching puzzles.

Picture one is of my center control system. Each center has a color. Under that color I have attached a suction cup hook (velcro-ed to the cubby with industrial strength velcro) and necklaces in the corresponding number. When the children choose a center, they take a necklace. If there are no necklaces left on the hook, the center is at it's max and they must choose another center.

The big three drawer unit holds our group art supplies (construction paper, art smocks, crayon boxes etc). The small drawer unit on the desk has blank typing paper for free drawing, laminated name cards for name writing practice, laminated tracing strips. The large unit on the desk will be used for our free art supplies. It currently has glue sticks, scissors, twist up crayons and a pencil. The cup has dry erase markers that the children use daily to trace their name on their name card. There is enough room at the desk for two chairs to fit comfortably.
